The ultimate wavy haircare routine you can try now

Do you have hair like Monica's that end up getting all frizzy and poofy when there is humidity and heat in the forecast? Have you ever gone to bed with no clue what your hair will look like in the morning? Then you might have what they say beautifully lined up waves or subtle curls. Difficult to manage, but aren't they just so gorgeous when taken care of?

Here is an ultimate wavy haircare routine you can try now to tame your gorgeous locks!

Avoid dryness

For wavy hair, it is essential to avoid dryness at any cost as it can make your hair go crazy. Use hair oil treatments to prevent damage and dryness and to help repair and achieve your desired curl definition.

Hydrating and moisturising

Wavy hair requires a lot of moisture and hydration to look healthy. Use moisturisers (not denser, just more!) if you feel like your hair is not as soft as you like it to be!

Avoid high temperatures

Avoid heat styling tools and hot showers because it makes your hair dull and lifeless. Hot water rids your scalp of precious nourishing oils and overusing hot tools is too much for your hair to handle before the strands and cuticles start to break off – resulting in breakage.

Use a wide-toothed comb

If you use a hairbrush or a close-toothed comb to entangle your wavy and frizzy hair, you might end up undoing your natural hair texture and making it frizzer. A wide-toothed comb will detangle your hair and remove those knots without upsetting its texture.

Avoid too much product

Wavy hair will look natural and bouncy and applying products to your hair can cause it to be weighed down and lose its natural shape. Apply products in a small amount and when your hair is damp. The saturated product will be lighter than before and not affect your texture much.

Work in sections

Have wavy hair that's also dense? Work in sections when applying oils and conditioners, or when brushing your hair.

Get layers

Layers can help with wavy hair, especially if they are dense, as layers can remove some of the ‘visual bulk’ without compromising length.

Wavy hair looks way better when healthier than usual. You can do so much with your natural wavy texture like flattening with an iron, coaxing the waves into thick gorgeous curls, or simply embracing the natural texture for an easy tousled look. With the right routine and knowing what to avoid, you can manage your waves and have the most gorgeous wavy hair.
