How to combat hair fall

As hair grows out, it also eventually falls out as part of its normal cycle on hairbrushes, pillows, or shower drains. You probably won’t notice natural hair loss that occurs daily as the thickness and the hairline usually remains the same. However, if it is more than a few strands and you notice the thickness, it is time to act.

Use clean water

Consider getting access to clean and filtered water when you shower as water containing chlorine, certain metals, and bacteria can cause hair thinning over time.

Scalp massage/oiling:

Massaging your scalp with a good oil increases blood circulation, hydrates and nourishes, and increases hair density. It also helps lower stress levels, one of the most common and known reasons behind hair fall.

Taking multivitamin supplements

Vitamins are not only healthy for overall well-being but also great for hair health. Vitamin A encourages healthy production of sebum in the scalp, vitamin E betters blood circulation in the scalp to help hair follicles remain productive and vitamin B helps hair maintain its healthy color.

Following a Mediterranean diet

Fresh herbs and fresh vegetables decrease the risk of Androgenetic Alopecia, pattern baldness, in males. Eating lean meats, fish, soy, or other proteins promotes hair health.

Gentle styling

Tying your hair in tight braids or vigorously brushing your hair can cause hair damage. Brush your hair as gently as you can and avoid tight updos for a long time.

Keep yourself hydrated

The hair shaft comprises one quarter water so drink at least four to eight cups of water a day.

Change your hair products

Gels and other styling products get trapped in the hair follicles and prevent hair growth. Avoid excessive use of chemical-laden hair products.

Avoid hot showers

Overly hot showers can cause damage to the scalp by stripping it of natural oils, causing dryness and inflammation.

Avoiding heat and chemicals

Using too many heat styling products like curling iron or hair straighteners can dry up your hair follicles, resulting in dry hair and vulnerable to damage.
