How to care for Chemically treated hair

Chemical treatments are your go-to option because you want fast results. Although chemical treatments make your hair look healthier, they need extra care as there are side effects. With a little care, you can make your hair look and be healthy and your treatment may last longer. To maintain those healthy strands after getting them treated, you need to follow a routine. Below are some tips that might help you take care of your treated hair.

Keep your hair dry when not shampooing in a shower:

On the days when you do not feel the need to wash your hair while showering, remember to wear a shower cap or pull your hair in a bun as unnecessary rinsing will cause the treatment to fade.

Use quality products for treatment:

When going for a chemical treatment, remember to always ask your stylist what kind of product they are applying to your precious hair. The more organic product you use, the less amount of any chemical side effects will be involved. Use ammonia-free products or products that contain natural oils.

Protect your hair from sun/heat:

The UV rays can damage your hair and fade the dye. Dyed hair is more vulnerable to damage. Avoid heat as much as possible, avoid going out in the sun bare head (use scarf or an umbrella), and avoid using too much heat to style your treated hair.

Trim regularly:

Chemically treated hair is more prone to damage and split ends. With these sorts of damage, your hair will not look as healthy as you want it to. Get a trim every 4 or 5 weeks so you have healthy- and fresh-looking strands.

Avoiding multiple chemical treatments:

Although everyone knows what kind of hair they want and what they should do for it. But we would advise you to avoid multiple chemical treatments. Give your hair time to recover from one treatment before jumping to another one.
